The government will impose a ban on gasoline exports from Russia for its producers starting from April 1, 2026. This information was reported by two sources from "Vedomosti," familiar with the outcomes of a meeting held on March 27 with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, and later confirmed by the government press service. One of the informants from "Vedomosti" clarified that the ban will be effective until July 31, 2026.
In the government announcement, it was noted that Novak, following the meeting, tasked the Ministry of Energy with preparing a draft resolution regarding the ban on gasoline exports starting April 1, 2026, aimed at stabilizing prices and ensuring priority supply for the domestic market. During the meeting, oil companies confirmed the availability of sufficient gasoline and diesel fuel reserves, as well as a high capacity utilization rate of refineries to meet domestic demand, as mentioned in the announcement.
